| Current active research areas include the role of arts and literature in better understanding the human person, and the unfolding of the human person in the midst of dire circumstances such as chronic disease, disability and end of life. I continue to work on the use of the DSES, a scale I developed, helping others use it in studies in the US and around the world.
I have done methodological research in psychosocial measurement, especially in the health sciences, both in the US and worldwide. I have done research in the area of Cancer Epidemiology and public health as well.. For details of this published work see general description page and published articles.
In addition to my published work I have participated in other research:
Guided and participated in over 200 research projects conducted during time as Research Director of private operating foundation. Mentored researchers in many fields and helped to design and direct individual research projects and group research collaboratives.
